Kimberley Sweeps WA Tourism Awards
North West tourism, hospitality and accommodation operators shined at the 2014 Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards.
The Kimberley region was well represented and scooped the pools taking out 19 awards in various categories including the coveted Sir David Brand Medal and Sir David Brand Award for Tourism.
The Sir David Brand Medal was presented to Jeff Hayley from Triple J Tours in recognition of his extraordinary, personal and professional achievements and significant contribution to the Western Australian tourism industry. Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa was recognised for their outstanding achievement and ongoing contribution to the Western Australian tourism industry attaining the Sir David Brand Award for Tourism.
Australia’s North West Tourism (ANW) were excited to win gold in the destination marketing category for their ‘Characters of the Kimberley’ campaign, which featured local identities relating their experiences and passion for the region.

Lonely Planet has chosen the Kimberley as one of the world’s Top 10 Regions in Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2014.
The Kimberley is ranked second on the book’s list of Top 10 Regions 2014. “It’s one of the most sparsely populated regions on the planet and one of the most starkly beautiful,” Lonely Planet says, “carved by giant gorges, dimpled with deep, cool pools, and home to a coastline that could make Australian east-coasters weep.
