Kimberley tours and four-wheel drive routes
Kimberley four-wheel drive routes (4WD) are among the world’s premier 4WD adventures, the most famous of which is the Gibb River Road. Running between Derby and Kununurra, it passes through some of the most rugged country on Earth. Kimberley cruises and coastal adventures
While Broome’s Cable Beach is classed as one of the world’s best beaches, there are also many world-class attractions to be found just off the coast in the Kimberley region. On a snorkel or dive tour of Rowley Shoals Marine Park you can swim with over 650 species of fish. And Kimberley cruises to the Buccaneer Archipelago, give you the chance to witness amazing tidal movements at the Horizontal Waterfalls. Extended cruises can take you to places precious few have been privileged to see. See the Luxury cruising section for more details.
Authentic Indigenous experiences
A trip to the Kimberley region is not complete without experiencing the unique culture of the local Indigenous people. Take an Indigenous guided tour or stay a few days on the remote Dampier Peninsula. Discover ancient Indigenous rock art in the region’s national parks, or visit an Indigenous arts centre. Learn about their history. Hear Dreamtime stories. Go fishing, make hunting spears and taste some local bush tucker. See Indigenous experiences for more details.
Kimberley fine diamonds and pearls
With over 120 years of pearling and mining history and a thriving industry still in operation today, the Kimberley region offers some unique insights into these industries. You can sail along the coast on an old pearl lugger, visit Broome’s fine pearl showrooms, or take a tour of the world’s largest operational diamond mine at Argyle Diamond Mine.
