Kununurra and East Kimberley Five Days

Day One - Kununurra

Arrive at Kununurra, the eastern gateway to the Kimberley and check into your choice of accommodation. Late afternoon, take a cruise on beautiful Lake Kununurra and enjoy a delicious barbeque dinner as you watch the sun set over the lake.

Day Two – Ord River and Lake Argyle

In the morning, join a thrilling day cruise up the Ord River. See native flora and fauna, have a swim in the clear fresh water and enjoy a gourmet lunch. In the afternoon, view the massive inland sea of Lake Argyle and the Ord River Dam, or, if you are keen on fishing, join a tour on the Lower Ord and chase the elusive Barramundi.

Day Three – Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle Range)

Take a scenic flight to the World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle Range). Spend the day exploring this amazing park with a local guide. Your return flights take you over the largest operating Diamond Mine in the World – Argyle Diamond Mine. Alternatively, stay overnight in the park at one of the safari camps.

Day Four – El Questro Wilderness Park

Join a four-wheel drive tour to El Questro Wilderness Park. Hike through spectacular gorge country and swim in fresh waterholes. Choose to stay overnight or head back into Kununurra. Alternatively, join a scenic flight over the Mitchell Plateau to a remote bush camp where you can fish, explore Indigenous rock art galleries and relax overnight in luxury.

Day Five - Kununurra

Spend the morning exploring Kununurra’s many contemporary and Indigenous art galleries as well as the Argyle Diamond and South Sea Pearl showrooms. Or, if you are feeling energetic, wander through the ancient rock formations at Hidden Valley Mirima National Park, before transferring to Kununurra Airport for your flight home.
