Complete your Karijini experience with a hike to the top of Mt Bruce or drive out to Hamersley Gorge before heading towards Tom Price - the highest town in Western Australia. Drive to the top of Mt Nameless for a spectacular Pilbara vista.
Tom Price - Millstream Chichester National Park (unsealed road)
Pass through the northern region of the Hamersley Ranges along the railway line access road (permit required, obtain from Tom Price Visitor Centre to Millstream Chichester National Park. Visit the old Homestead, which has been transformed into the park’s Visitor Centre, before heading out to Chindewarriner Pool and Deep Pool lookout. Set up camp on the shores of the Fortescue River.
Millstream Chichester National Park – Roebourne (unsealed road)
Stop for lunch and a dip at Python Pool and take in the scenery of the Chichester Ranges on your way to Roebourne. Admire Roebourne’s historic buildings or join a port to port tour (regularly running from the Visitor Centre).
Roebourne / Cossack / Point Samson (sealed road)
Explore the historic town of Cossack. Watch local Indigenous artists at work at the Galbraith building, or join a boat trip to Jarman Island and see the beautifully restored lighthouse. Head to the sleepy coastal hamlet of Point Samson - a great as a base for fishing or beachcombing.
Roebourne / Point Samson - Karratha (sealed road)
See the most concentrated collection of Indigenous rock art in the world at the Burrup Peninsula. This is also home to the Woodside North West Shelf Gas Project, call into their Visitor Centre for a full interpretation. Visit Hearson's Cove for a dip at high tide or to watch the 'Staircase to the Moon' phenomenon on full moon dates from March to October.
