This cemetery contains the graves of Afghan Camel drivers brought to Australia by Zamen Shar. These drivers carried supplies all over the Kimberley region. They provided the first freight service in the Kimberley.

Description:

Named in the early days before the discovery that there were no alligators in Australia. Swimming was once considered safe when the hole had a small population of freshwater crocodiles but the dangerous saltwater crocodile has started to appear in the water and swimming is no longer recommended.

Beagle Bay is one of three Aboriginal communities on the Dampier Peninsula north of Broome, and an interesting part of Western Australian history. If you’re four wheel driving along the track to Cape Leveque it’s well worth a stop to see the Beagle Bay Sacred Heart Church with its mother of pearl shell altar.

Beaton's Rockhole and Gorge are located four kilometres from town. Visitors eager to fossick for gold and precious stones can try their luck. Fossickers have found agate, asbestos, antimony, beryl, chalcedony, jade, jasper, manganese, tiger eye and wolfram in the area.
