6DBY HIGH TIDE DAY - SUPPORTED BY Lotterywest
The town of Derby in the West Kimberley boasts of having the highest tide every year in Australia and the second highest tide in the southern hemisphere.
On Saturday April 29th 2017 we will celebrate a low tide of 0.85m at 10.28 am and a high tide of 12.02m at 3.49 pm. a massive rise and fall of 11.17m (36.5 feet) in less than 6 hours, the water moving at upwards of 12 knots !!!
Come and enjoy the festivities being brought to you by Derby Media Aboriginal Corporation (6DBY Radio), Lotterywest, Sheffield Resources, The Boab Festival Committee, Archer Builders, SAAOC Committee and the Shire of Derby West Kimberley.
There will be live music, market and food stalls and fun for the children.
Event starts at 3.30 pm and will go thru to 8.00 pm.
