Karijini National Park has always been a bucket-list destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers, but 2025 is shaping up to be an even more unforgettable year to visit! With newly sealed roads and exciting upgrades across the park, exploring this stunning corner of Western Australia has never been easier or more accessible.

For years, the park's rugged gravel roads posed a challenge for some visitors. But now, with the sealing of 41km of key roads, exploring Karijini and its awe-inspiring attractions is a breeze. The new smooth bitumen roads allow for easy travel by 2WD vehicles, coaches, and caravans, so guests can explore the park in comfort. No more bouncing along dusty, corrugated tracks—you can now drive to the Karijini Eco Retreat on a beautiful, sealed road. But, that’s not all. The new bitumen road continues all the way to Weano, Hancock, Joffre and Knox Gorges! No more bumping over the corrugations to get to some of the most popular attractions in the park, including the ‘spider walk’, Kermits Pool and Joffre Falls.

Banjima Drive North, that notorious bone-shaking, gravel road that runs through the middle of the park, has also been sealed. It has taken 30 minutes off the travel time from Karijini Eco Retreat to Dales Gorge.

Another exciting addition is the brand-new lookout that has been installed overlooking Knox Gorge. The new viewing platform provides spectacular 360-degree views down into the gorge where you can see the intersection of Knox and Wittenoom Gorge, giving a true appreciation of the forces that created this awe-inspiring landscape. Make a point of visiting this lookout late in the afternoon or early in the morning, when the slanting sunrays enhance this spectacular panorama.
