Mornington Wilderness Camp will reopen for the 2023 season
In the heart of the Kimberley, Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary covers more than 3000sqkm of spectacular gorges and tropical savannah dominated by the Fitzroy River and Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges. Mornington Wilderness Camp provides a comfortable base from which to explore this remarkable sanctuary.
330km (5 hours) from Derby. Travel along the Gibb River Road to the signposted turnoff. From the turnoff (at Mt House) drive a further 88km (1.5 to 2 hours).
Mornington Wilderness Camp has 11 safari-style tents each with ensuite and a private balcony overlooking picturesque Annie Creek. The spacious tents are comfortably furnished with quality beds and linen, tea/coffee making facilities and mini bar. A laundry service is also available.
Mornington Wilderness Camp also has a shady, creek-side unpowered campground with the ablutions block providing flushing toilets and hot showers.
In the evenings, dine under the stars at the bush bar and licensed restaurant.
Campfires, generators, fishing or pets are not permitted at Mornington.

Each of our 11 spacious Safari Tents includes an ensuite, mini bar, tea and coffee and a shaded private veranda overlooking beautiful Annie Creek. A touch of comfort and luxury in the remarkable Kimberley outback. Rates are charged per person per night and are inclusive of a two-course gourmet dinner at the Bush Restaurant, a cooked or continental buffet breakfast and a lunch hamper. Recommended stay is a minimum of two nights.
