The beauty of Australia’s longest continuous river cruise is how it passes through a variety of landscapes, from the wide expanse of Lake Kununurra through the magnificent Carlton Gorge along the age-old Ord River – 55km in total, from Kununurra to the Ord Top Dam.
Since 1988 it has been our vision to make this extraordinary trip accessible to anyone visiting the Kimberley. Over the years, we’ve developed and grown the experience to showcase the best the Kimberley has to offer in one unforgettable day.
Ord River Discoverer with sunset (J3)
Our most popular touring option! You will be collected from your accommodation at 11.30am and taken by coach through Durack country to Lake Argyle (70km). Enjoy a short visit to the historic Durack Homestead Museum before crossing the Ord Top Dam wall & boarding the boat for a scenic 55km cruise back to Kununurra. Marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way, including the elusive freshwater crocodile!
Enjoy afternoon tea at our riverside camp before heading back to Kununurra. Take in a colourful East Kimberley sunset before docking back at the Marina and re-boarding your coach for your accommodation drop-off at around 6.00pm.

Ord River Explorer with sunset (J4)
If you have already been to Lake Argyle, then this is the cruise for you! You will be collected from your accommodation at 11.30am and taken by coach to board your Triple J Tour from the Marina. Cruising the 55km to Lake Argyle, you will marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way, including the elusive freshwater crocodile!
Your return trip from the base of the Ord Top Dam includes stopping for afternoon tea at our riverside camp. Scenic photographers will appreciate the contrast in colours as the light changes the way the gorges and ranges look on the return journey. We will return you to your Kununurra accommodation at around 6.00pm after enjoying an East Kimberley sunset on board the boat.

Ord River Experience with Riverside Lunch
Working in reverse from our Ord River Day Tour, you will be collected from your accommodation at 9.00am before boarding your Triple J Tours boat from the Marina. Cruising this spectacular waterway, you will marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way and maybe even spot a crocodile!
Relax a while as we stop at one of our Riverside Camp’s for a sumptuous buffet lunch, before we then have you cruising up to the Ord Top Dam. Board the coach for short stop at the historic Durack Homestead Museum and we will return you to your accommodation in Kununurra at approximately 3.30pm.
