Australia’s North West Tourism (ANW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Keen as its new independent Chair, bringing more than two decades of tourism and business events leadership to the organisation.
Nigel has over 20 years’ experience in the tourism and business events sector, including 12 years as General Manager of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. He has served on state and national industry boards including Business Events Perth (BEP), Tourism Council Western Australia (TCWA), Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) and the Business Events Council of Australia (BECA). He also played an integral role in establishing the Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) in 2023.
Acting Chair Drew Norrish said Nigel’s appointment reflects ANW’s commitment to strong governance and industry collaboration.
“Nigel brings deep industry knowledge, board experience and a collaborative leadership style that aligns strongly with ANW’s focus on sustainable growth and regional development across the Kimberley and Pilbara,” Mr Norrish said.
“His experience at both state and national levels will support ANW as we continue to strengthen our partnerships and advocate for the region.”
Nigel said he was honoured to take on the role.

ANW represents the tourism industry across the Kimberley, and Pilbara and works in partnership with government, industry and community to promote and develop Australia’s North West as a world-class destination.
