Ord River Irrigation Area

Weaber Plain Rd, Kununurra, 6743

Ranged around the town of Kununurra, the Ord River Irrigation Area consists of over 20,000 hectares of productive agricultural land growing tropical fruits, chickpeas, sugarcane, chia seeds and sandalwood and other crops.

Take a drive around Weaber Plains and Packsaddle Roads to see the vast crop fields and the gravity fed irrigation channels. Scenic flights departing from Kununurra Airport and the Floatplane area have a birds eye view over the ORIA, and land based tours are also available.

Enjoy the taste of Kununurra at the local cafes which feature many local ingredients, including mango, chia and banana, and include a sip of rum from the local distillery.
