BHP Mt. Whaleback Mine Tours

Take a tour of the world’s largest single open cut iron ore mine. This tour departs from the Newman Visitor Centre at 9AM and 2PM on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

A minimum of 10 people is required for the tours to operate. Please visit the Newman Visitor Centre website or call to book your spot!

The tour last approximately 2 hours and passengers are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the commencement of the tour. Please note that fully enclosed shoes, long sleeved tops to the wrists and long pants to the ankles are essential for the tour. We suggest bringing drinking water with you on hot days. Special tours for large groups can be negotiated by prior arrangement.
