The Ord Valley Muster 2026 in Kununurra is more than a festival — it’s a celebration of Kimberley culture, music, food, and natural beauty. Over five days, you can dive into hands-on art workshops, sunrise yoga on Lake Kununurra, scenic adventures, and unforgettable evening experiences under the vast Kimberley sky.
We’ve created this sample itinerary, including the popular Kimberley Moon Experience, to help you make the most of the festival!

Day 1: Wednesday 20 May
This is a busy day for the Ord Valley Muster, with a great range of events to choose from. Kick off your day by immersing yourself in local culture and nature. In the morning, you have two great options:
-
The Waringarri Textile Experience: roll up your sleeves and create your own textile print with local Miriwoong artists, and take home your own unique carry bag.
-
Join the Eco-noeing Ultimate Day Trip with Go Wild Adventure Tours. Explore the upper Ord River on this full-day guided canoe tour: glide silently across the water, spotting birds and wildlife while soaking in the calm atmosphere.
Foodies are spoiled for choice in the afternoon with both the Cultural Culinary Adventure and the Lake Argyle Sundown Soiree taking place.
Presented by Waringarri Arts & Blak Tapas, the Cultural Culinary Adventure is an immersive experience, with art, didferidoo performance, traditional dancing and storytelling, accommpanied by a gourmet grazing spread infused with native local flavours.
For the Sundown Soiree, transfer to Lake Arygle by bus or self drive, then board the Kimberley Durack for a cruise with canapés and fine wine. As the sun dips behind the Carr Boyd Ranges, it’s time for the Discovery Resorts - Lake Argyle Cliffside Dinner. Picture a long table perched above the shimmering waters, live music drifting across the lake, and the Kimberley sky painted in oranges and purples — a perfect evening!

Day 2: Thursday 21 May
Thursday morning offers choices for starting your day in style:
-
Have a Morning Brew on the Ord with Triple J Tours: take in the stunning scenery and local wildlife on this tranquil river cruise, stopping for a homemade mornting tea on the riverside.
-
Muster Afloat: float across Lake Kununurra while enjoying the Float, Paint and Create session - a relaxed and creative session ending with a ceramic pot or incense holder to take home (pick up your piece the next day once it's fired).
-
Waringarri Textile Experience: if you missed it on Day 1, now’s your chance to get hands-on!
Spend the afternoon stretching your legs at Mirima National Park, also known as Hidden Valley, where dramatic red cliffs and quiet valleys invite exploration. Or, take a gentle stroll through the streets of Kununurra and pick up local treats before evening falls.
If you missed the Cultural & Culinary Adventure on Wednesday, you've got a second (and final) chance to join in this afternoon.
Have a musical evening at the Wonder Concert - a celebration of the greatest one-hit wonders in the world!

Day 3: Friday 22 May
Friday is your day to soak up the Kimberley’s stunning landscapes. If breathwork and sound bowls speak to you, start your morning with the final Muster Afloat session.
Then spend the day adventuring:
-
Take in sweeping vistas at Lake Argyle, take a scenic cruise, hire a boat, paddleboard or BBQ pontooon, or relax by the infinity pool.
-
Catch a flight over the Bungle Bungle Range, and see the famous beehive formations from above.
- Take a scenic drive towards Wyndham along the 2WD or 4WD routes, with opportunities to visit waterholes, nature reserves, scenic vistas and fishing spots.
- Explore El Questro for the day, or overnight before the Kimberley Moon Experience.

Day 4: Saturday 23 May
Saturday is the highlight of the festival. Have a leisurely morning, then get ready for the evening’s show-stopping event:
-
Kimberley Moon Experience: music and atmosphere come alive under the starlit Kimberley sky. Bring a picnic rug for general admission, or elevate the evening with the Kimberley Fine Diamonds Dinner, a riverside black-tie affair surrounded by sparkling water and stars.
It’s an unforgettable night, a true festival pinnacle, and a perfect way to celebrate your time in the Kimberley.

Day 5: Sunday 24 May
Round off your adventure with a morning brunch at Picnic & Pour at El Questro (Emma Gorge). Enjoy artisan food and drinks against the dramatic red cliffs, accompanied by live acoustic music.
Spend the afternoon exploring El Questro, or simply relaxing in the Kimberley sunshine. Later, return to Kununurra for a final sunset over Lake Kununurra — the perfect way to close your five-day festival adventure.
