Joon Joo Botanical Trail
Worsley Road, Off Derby-Broome Road, Derby, 6728
The Joon Joo Botanical Trail is a 3km looped walking trail approximately 5km from Derby. Along the trail you'll find numerous interpretive panels explaining the vegetation as well as the bush tucker and bush medicines used by the local Nyikina people, reflecting the seasons of the Wanganut land system. Walkers may also be rewarded with glimpses of the local wild and birdlife.
Pick up the JoonJoo Botanical Trail Guide & Map from Derby Visitor Centre, which includes information on the species of flora and fauna that have been recorded within the reserve including over fifty species of birds and seventy species of plants.
While the trail is an easy walk and partly shaded, good walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen and water are recommended.
