Gnoorea Point (40-Mile Beach) & Miaree Pool

Gnoorea Point or 40-Mile Beach offers nature based camping with great fishing from the beach. For off-shore fishing there is also a natural boat ramp.
The camping area has public toilets for day users and sullage points for campers. There is a 28-day limit for camping, and fees apply between 1 May and 30 September. Please note that no drinking water is available on site. For more information about camping at Gnoorea Point, please contact the Karratha Visitor Centre.
Gnoorea Point is accessed via the Forty Mile Beach Road, off the North-West Coastal Highway.
On your way to Gnoorea Point visit Miaree Pool, approximately 30 kilometres south of Karratha off the North-West Coastal Highway. This is a popular and pretty swimming hole on the Maitland River with shaded picnic tables and a 24-hour rest area. Miaree Pool is also a good fishing spot.
